A Vainglorious Blog For Vainglory!

I've decided to move all of the Vainglory posts to a new blog I've just created, Vaingloriously Glorious!

All current Vainglory related posts will remain intact here, but further continuation will be on the new blog.

The new blog, http://vaingloriously.blogspot.com/, was created so Dragon Soul Guidance is able to stay true to its title and not go off-topic.

If you'd like to read information on build advice, hero concepts, or leaks, visit Vaingloriously Glorious now!

A new post for the leaked talents will be on there right away!

Hero Concept: Giant Giant

My own idea!

Giant Giant

(Concept Art: A tall giant, taller than Megataur, but not that large in weight. Somewhat similar clothing to CoC's Giant)

:star: :star: :star:

Frontline tank hero who blocks attacks, dozes a lot, and flattens his enemies.

Giant Giant Quotes:

"I mean, he's giant. I know that some fairy tale giants are bigger than this guy, but those are fakers. Real giants are about, like, three fourths his height. Not that big a difference from a math's perspective, but still. He's bigger than ya'll will ever be." - Centaur Of Attention

"Don't let him near the Dark Horse. For the luva god, just no." - Unstable Understudy

"He's always sleepy. Does being that @$#%ing big cause sleepiness or?" - Electroyeti

Tank Hero

Basic Attack: Physical Damage, Bashing Damage
Primary: Strength
Trait: Heavy

Core Stats Growth per Level:

Stars:
1 star: None
2 star: None

Enemy heroes stuck under Giant Giant are trapped and immobile, but are unable to be targeted by ally heroes. Giant Giant is also put out of the action for the time being of his sleep. Giant Giant will sleep until Y damage is dealt to him or until after 10 seconds of sleep. After getting up, enemy heroes are still immobile, being flattened for 2 seconds.

Note, the flattened effect cannot be affected by longer disables nor tenacity

  • X = 100 + physical damage + 20 x skill level

Green Skill: "Oopsie"

(Concept Art: His foot)
(Animation: Steps forth, "accidentally" stepping on enemy heroes in front of him.)

Walks forth, smashing enemy heroes in front of him for X physical damage. Steps backwards after realizing his mistake. Stomped enemy heroes are flattened, and remain flattened and immobile for 4 seconds until popping back to normal size.

  • X = 80 + 25% x basic damage + 10 x skill level

Blue Skill: "Snooze Strength"

(Concept Art: Yawning Bubbles + Strong Arm)
(Animation: Dozes from time to time.)

Gains strength from sleepiness. His dozes and his special give him X strength, but at the same time he loses half of his current energy.

Note: Dozes usually occur once every 7.5ish seconds

  • X = 10 + 0.4 x skill level

  • X = 10 + 0.375 x skill level
Legendary Quests (No Dialogue At The Moment):

Stage 1: "Didn't Mean To Doze" - Tap on Giant Giant 100 (or 50 times depending on the dialogue chosen) times in one day whenever he dozes off. (Tapping him will wake him up, but only when this quest is during completion.)

Dialogue Heroes: Giant Giant, and the player. There will be some specific dialogue that you must choose, like in a story game.

Stage 2: "My Snoozing Only Makes Me Stronger!" - Have Giant Giant gain 2,000 strength in one day from his abilities.

Stage 3: "That Deserves Me A Week Long Nap" - Don't use Giant Giant for 7 days straight.

(Vainglory) Build Advice (Mostly For Captains)

Always remember to build boots.

If you're running a hero who has low energy sustain, relies on their skills, or needs lower cooldowns, run Halcyon Chargers.

If you're running a captain hero with a captain build, War Treads are for you. If you're not a captain, you would only need War Treads if you need the extra health or want to support your team to chase down enemy foes.

Journey Boots... uh. Use for heroes like Krul who chase down their enemies. The low cooldown on the boot sprint and high speed (0.6, highest of all the boots) can help with chasing down most foes.

Captain Advice + Defensive Items Advice For Your Average Hero

Defense items, always handy for the Captains. If you're a Captain, the most viable items to get to support your team are War Treads, Fountain of Renewal, and Crucible. Crucible for shielding all, Fountain for healing all, and War Treads for sprinting all. Crucible also gives the highest health; 600. It can be useful for even the non-captains. Most important note on the defensive items; When you see the enemy team run all WP, you should ALWAYS run Metal Jackets or Atlas Pauldrons. When you see the enemy team run all CP, ALWAYS run an Aegis, and probably even a Fountain for the extra shield, health, and teamwide healing just for the bonus. Most of the time if the enemy team is smart and built with teamwork, they'll have 2 heroes go one style and the other with the other style. If 2 heroes go CP, run shields. If 2 heroes go WP, run armor. Sometimes you gotta add both if the one hero is too dangerous alone as one style. Goes for Captains as well, if they run all defense or utility, check their abilities. If they're a dangerous CPer, safe bet's to shield anyway (WP too). Phinn can run all utility and defense and still deal a whoppin 300 damage with his A early game! But most likely with Captains, they'll run mixed with Utility and either WP or CP. Glass Cannon build and you can't save room for the defense items? At least bring a Slumbering Husk. It'll save you from the burst damages and hard hitting moves.

More information on the two other roles, carry and jungler, are coming soon to be found on vaingloriously.blogspot.com.

(Dragon Soul) Hero Concept: Hornet Throwing Bear

I'm gonna be cutting off requests for now, cuz I got a lot of ideas I'd like to present myself.

Hornet Throwing Bear

:star: hero

Midline hero who throws hornets at his enemies to sting and stun.

Hornet Bear Quotes:

"So he wields knives, and you throw hornets?" - Centaur of Attention

"It's like we're the chillest soulmates. We know what's up. If some guy starts being obnoxious, just throw some bees or hornets or yellowjackets. They'll shut up right awayyy." - Groovy Druid

"Bro Rule #1: Don't take his honey." - Badly Stung Brozerker

Damage Hero

Basic Attack: Physical Damage
Primary: Agility
Trait: Heavy

Core Stats Growth per Level:

Stars:
1 star: Strength: 2.0 Agility: 2.5 Intellect: 2.5
2 star: Strength: 3.25 Agility: 4.0 Intellect: 3.5
3 star: Strength: 4.5 Agility: 5.5 Intellect: 4.5
4 star: Strength: 5.75 Agility: 7.0 Intellect: 5.5
5 star: Strength: 7.0 Agility: 8.5 Intellect: 6.5

Where to Obtain
  • Hero Sign In (First Month)
  • Elite Campaign + Gold Chest (Second Month++)

White Skill: "War Hornets"

(Concept Art: Hornets wearing army helmets)
(Animation: Places down the nest, 1 - 5 hornets emerge)

Release the hornets! Upon activation, 1 to 5 giant war hornets will appear from the nest, quickly attacking random foes and distracting them (Their focus will be put on the hornets). After 10 seconds of attacking, the remaining hornets will return to the nest. This skill cannot be activated again while the hornets from this skill are still in assault.

Hornet Number Chances:

  • 1 Hornet: 25%
  • 2 Hornets: 37.5%
  • 3 Hornets: 45%
  • 4 Hornets: 22.5%
  • 5 Hornets: 15%

War Hornet Stats:

Hornets attack every 2 seconds

  • Armor and Magic Resistance (X): 5 + 2.5 x skill level
  • Health (Y): 100 + 15% x max health (Hornet Bear's) + 10 x skill level
  • Damage (Z): 20 + 25% x basic damage (Hornet Bear's) + 2.5 x skill level

Damage Type:

  • Physical Damage
  • Piercing Damage

Green Skill: "Hornet's Are Made To Be Thrown"

(Concept Art: A flying hornet that's flying because the bear threw it)
(Animation: Bear grabs the hornet out of the nest, throws the hornet at the foe)

If the bear can throw em, they're made to be thrown. The bear grabs a single hornet out of his nest, and throws it at the nearest enemy, stunning them for 1.5 seconds. The hornet is then released to attack that enemy foe for 5 seconds until retreating to its nest (if it's still alive). Guaranteed to stun foes levels X or lower.

  • X = Skill Level

Blue Skill: "Rejuvenating Magical Honey"

(Concept Art: Paw sticky with honey)
(Animation: Puts paw into nest; gets paw full of honey)

Rejuvenates himself with a fresh paw of hon- wait what? You're telling me hornets don't make honey? Then where'd that honey come from?

Just kidding, probably raided a beehive, murdered all of the household members, and stole all the honey from there. Maybe even ate the bees along with.

BUT ANYWAYS.

Hornet Throwing Bear heals himself for X and gains a small sugar rush, gaining Y attack speed.

  • X = 250 + 10% x max health + 10 x skill level
  • Y = 25% + 0.25% x skill level

Purple Skill: "War Hornets, but Angry"

The hornets become angrified (not a word, but it is now) after being sent back to their hive. On the second special activation, the hornets attack once every second instead of every two seconds. Their damage is also amplified by X.

  • X = 10% + 0.125% x skill level

Orange (Legendary) Skill: "Hornet Stings Hurt. They're Also Poisonous."

(Concept Art: The stinger)

Hornet stings are poisonous right? The war hornets now poison their targets for 5 seconds, with each sting refreshing the duration. Poisoned foes take X damage per second and is amplified by 1% per missing health percentage.

  • X = 500 + 10% x basic damage + 25 x skill level

Yeah.. I know I keep on stalling off the legendary quests.
I just don't have enough time for them. They're kind of the least enjoyable part of writing these concepts too when it comes to the time it takes and when you don't have any good ideas for it.
But if you really want legendary quests with this, tell me, I'll write them.

Dragon Soul Guidance back online.

Dragon Soul Guidance will now STAY Dragon Soul Guidance....

Vainglory will still remain, but Dragon Soul Guidance is also here to stay.

Welcome back.

Sorry for the changes. I admit, I wasn't in my best thoughts at the time.
